The new studio offers me many advantages that I’ve never had before. The place is around 5,000 square feet, and it has its own private roof access, 5 bedrooms, and its own crane. Which I’m using all of the time to move larger projects in and out, instead of trying to run them up and down the stairs. The paint/sanding/molding/sculpting areas were the first to go together. Followed by an actual office, small shipping area, a large area for making wardrobe, and we are about to start building a photo studio. So we can go from making wardrobe, and props one day to shooting them 15 feet away the next.We are actually renting the studio out to photographers,designers, or anyone who has the need to use our facilities. Its a new sort of market for A, and I….But we actually enjoy it.
We are going to be having a kick off party after everything is 100% complete. Which we hope is this month.and to help finance the studio I am going to be having an inventory sale. Some overstock, a few customs that the buyers bailed on, and a few one of a kinds that never made it to production. most of the time that was due to the amount of time required to complete that project. For example: The wood stock Nerf Recon. It took over 10 hours of modifications, prepping, customizing,molding, and painting. it looks amazing, but I would have to charge like $250 each if i am to cover the labor involved, and i can’t do that.I’m gonna post that piece in the sale, but I have a local friend here in Hollywood who’s trying to buy it from me, so if its not available, that’s most likely why. But who knows. I told him I was posting it. maybe one of you will grab it.Oh that reminds me. All pieces I sell are available for local pickup for anyone in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area.
